Apple ‘spent a whopping $1million on a STAIRCASE’ because of its global flagship store

The $1million (£683,889) staircase is the centrepiece of its new flagship store on San Francisco’s Union Square. Apple has reportedly spent a small fortune on installing an incredible staircase which may have cost a massive $33,000 per step.

For the same amount of money, the multinational tech firm could have bought two British homes, which have an average price of about £288,000.

According to figures obtained by the website Patently Apple , the Californian firm forked out about $24million on the incredible store.

It comes with 40 foot sliding doors which could one day allow Apple to turn the shop into a showroom for an iCar, which is rumoured to be one of it’s top secret projects.
