At the Friendship House, Billings youth bands to compete Friday in Battle of the Bands

The event is free and open to the public. The battle will be judged a local band and pastor. The grand prize is a $100 gift card to Hansen Music and runners up will receive gift cards to Target, Pita Pit and Big Dipper. The Friendship House of Christian Service, 3123 Eighth Ave. S., is hosting a Battle of the Bands on Friday from 7 to 11 p.m. in the Friendship Cafe in the gym.

The groups vying for the grand prize include Snowbored, a surf punk band; the duo Natalie and McKayla; soloist Lyric Horton; and rock band FMK.

Logan McLean, teen program coordinator for the Friendship House, said the event will be formatted “American Idol” style.

“The judges will give feedback after each of the performances,” McLean said. “Part of the judges rating will be the audience response.”
