Nintendo unveils new Legend of Zelda game and teases Pokemon titles

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

While the title still features the familiar kingdom of Hyrule, new game mechanics have been influenced by other RPG games, which could help it to appeal to gamers outside of Nintendo’s hardcore fan base.

Described by Nintendo as “boundary-breaking”, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will impose a limit on how many items can be carried, but also adds the ability to craft weapons.

The company hasn’t confirmed a specific release date for either the Wii U or NX versions of the game, but both are due to land in 2017.

Nintendo also teased a pair of new Pokemon twin titles at E3 – the seventh in the core series of the popular game.

Due for release on 18 November 2016, Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon see the player acting as a trainer with the ability to catch, battle and trade all-new Pokemon.
