How The Fosters Will Address the Orlando Shooting in Its Season Premiere

Freeform confirmed to that Fosters stars Cierra Ramirez and Sherri Saum will deliver a special message dedicated to the victims of the Orlando attack before the episode airs. The premiere and second episode of the season, scheduled before the Orlando incident became the worst mass shooting in American history, will tackle gun violence and the trauma after Mariana’s (Ramirez) boyfriend Nick (Louis Hunter) steals his father’s gun and brings it to school.

Just days after the mass shooting in an Orlando gay nightclub traumatized the country, The Fosters will air a special PSA ahead of its Season 4 premiere on Monday — which coincidentally centers on a school shooting.

“It’s something that’s happening so much it’s almost becoming normal,” executive producer Joanna Johnson previously told “It almost seems like a weekly occurrence that someone is taking a gun to school. We wanted to explore what the impact of this has on our schools and has on our kids.”

The PSA has added significance considering The Fosters centers on lesbian parents Lena (Saum) and Stef (Teri Polo) Adams-Foster and rolex replica watchestheir five children.
