Instagram is bigger than Twitter and Snapchat COMBINED with 500 million users now
New stats from the the Facebook -owned company reveal that Instagram’s monthly user base has more than doubled in size over the past two years. Photo-sharing app Instagram now has a staggering 500 million users, with more than 300 million people using the photo-sharing app every single day.
An average of 95 million photos and videos are shared on
Instagram every day, while the popular platform sees a whopping 4.2 billion likes per day.By comparison, Twitter has 310 million users, while Snapchat has 100 million.

Instagram Filters
According to Instagram, 80% of its users are based outside of the US.
The photo-sharing app is widely considered to be partly responsible for the rapid rise of the selfie, and was also the original home of the Throwback Thursday hastag, which is now used across other social networks.
According to Instagram, in excess of 325 million Throwback Thursday or #TBT hashtags have now been posted.
