Leno, whose two stints hosting “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” totaled 21 years, is coming to the ABT on Nov. 18 for performances at 6 and 9 p.m. Comedian Jay Leno, contemporary Christian vocalist Amy Grant and the 35th anniversary tour of “Forbidden Broadway” all have been added to the 2016-17 Alberta Bair Theater season.
Nashville artist and six-time Grammy winner Amy Grant will play the ABT at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 1, and “Forbidden Broadway” plays the ABT at 7:30 p.m. on April 27.
Grant became the first artist in Christian music to have a platinum record. “Forbidden Broadway,” a musical roast of Broadway shows, targets “Pippin,” “Kinky Boots,” “Les Miz” and “Matilda.”
The add-on shows will bring the ABT season up to 25 shows in the upcoming season.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. at the ABT box office, 2801 Third Ave N., on Saturday, July 9, and at noon for phone or online orders. To reach the ABT by phone, call 256-6052, or go to albertabairtheater.org.
Subscriptions to the Broadway, Fox or the Orser series can be purchased now in person at the ABT box office or by mail. Subscriptions are not sold online or by phone.
The rest of the season was announced last month and it includes the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Once” on Nov. 10 and an encore performance by Garrison Keillor on April 6, after his March show sold out the ABT.
The season kicks off on Sept. 11 with Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue returning to Billings after performing here with Magic City Blues in 2014.
