Larry David Is Bringing Back Curb Your Enthusiasm Now

“In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned,'” star and creator Larry David said of his decision to bring the show back.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is returning for a ninth season, HBO announced on Tuesday.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was developed as a one-hour special in 1999, and premiered as a series the following year. It ran for five straight seasons until 2005, when it began taking two year breaks between seasons, the last of which aired in 2011. And with 80 episodes to date, that makes Curb HBO’s longest-running scripted series.

As for the new season, no details beyond David’s return have been announced yet. However, co-star J.B. Smoove has previously said David asked if he would be available for a potential ninth season.
