The much-rumoured OnePlus 3 is finally here and you don’t need an invite to buy it

As expected, the new budget handset features Dash Charge fast charging tech, which is said to give the phone a day’s worth of charge in just half an hour. The OnePlus 3 has finally been officially announced following months of months of speculation .

The smartphone comes completely unlocked, so buyers can choose whichever mobile carrier they want.

What’s more, dual micro-SIM support means that they can even hook up to two different networks.

Unlike the previous two handsets from OnePlus, the new model will be available to all, with no invitation needed to buy.

Described as “a faster, cooler and safer way to charge a smartphone”, Dash Charge shifts the power management from the phone itself to the adapter, enabling it to charge the phone quicker.

The new handset also features a more durable ceramic fingerprint sensor that’s designed to improve accuracy the more it’s used.

Running the maker’s OxygenOS software, which is based on Android Marshmallow, the phone also packs a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front cam that enables the user to snap a selfie simply by smiling.

Sporting a metal chassis crafted from space-grade aluminium alloy, the handset measures just 7.3mm thick and sports a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED screen.

It also has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, which means the OnePlus 3 will perform a massive 40% faster than its predecessor, according to its maker.

The phone is available in two colour options – Graphite and Soft Gold.

The OnePlus 3 is available now from with a price tag of £309 – tantalisingly cheap compared to Apple’s £539 iPhone 6s .
