Two men dance at Pulse nightclub just hours before Omar Mateen opened fire

After news broke of the tragedy people began to comment on the video – which has now been seen more than 40,000 times. A group of four people are also seen walking past the clubbers – which some people claim were shot dead just hours later.

Aaron Jackson wrote: “Sad to think some of these people walking by didn’t make it.”

Some people commented on the video that people seen walking across the clip were later gunned down

And another, Swyper Hid’yagirl Carter wrote: “Moments before the shooting … You are blessed.”

A Tonyz said in a Facebook post that him, his sister, boyfriend and friends left the VIP area where they had been partying just “seconds” before Marteen opened fire.

The clip was posted about two hours before Omar Mateen began his killing spree – where he murdered 49 and injured at least 52

On Facebook he said: “Not even a few seconds later is when it all started.

“When we were outside and made it to the 7/11 people where screaming and running looking for their loved ones along with seeing injured people sitting on the floor.

“It was so surreal – it seemed fake. This had to be planned.

“We were lucky to walk away from this, but my condolences to the friends and family who lost their loved ones tonight and for everyone that has been injured tonight, I’m praying for you all.”

The incident at Pulse started at around 2am local time when an off-duty police officer is reported to have attempted a “gun battle with the suspect.”

Mateen took hostages and was eventually shot and killed by police officers at around 5am.

Despite being previously investigated by the FBI on at least two occasions Mateen was last week able to purchase firearms in the run up to the attack – and posted on Facebook a week last Sunday: “May Allah accept me.”

Mateen is said to have been armed with an AR-15 assault rifle, Sig Sauer RMCX, Glock model 17 9mm and a Smith and Wesson .38 calibre revolver.
