We’ve already seen a resurrection of the iconic ZX Spectrum and now it seems Nintendo’s Game Boy is next on the list. Nostalgia can be a powerful thing – especially when it comes to video games .
American company Hyperkin is currently taking orders for an add-on accessory called a “Smartboy” that lets you play the original Game Boy and Game Boy Colour games on your phone.
The add-on costs $59 and, so far, only works on Android phones – so bad luck if you happen to own an iPhone.
Rather than simply sell the device to punters, the company is hoping that eager developers will improve on its creation.

“Hyperkin is offering a royalty percentage – of retail-ready Smartboy units sold – to anyone that can improve the Smartboy’s serial app and firmware,” it said.
“Updates and builds of the serial app and firmware can be uploaded to a dedicated Hyperkin Lab forum.”

Unfortunately, if you do decide to buy it, you’re in for a bit of a wait as it’s not shipping to customers until December 1st, 2016.
