Retro Freak console makes you play all your favourite classic video games in one place

The Retro Freak console

In the past you had to hunt around on eBay or dig through the loft for old games consoles to play your old favourites, but now you can just pick up one of these: a Retro Freak Premium. The latest generation of games is awesome, with consoles like the Xbox One and PS4 delivering incredible graphics and phenomenal resolution – but it’s nice to go back in time every once in a while.

Simply put, the Retro Freak Premium is a magic box that lets you play

pretty much any old console game. The only thing missing is support for the original PlayStation, but some would argue that’s not a retro console – yet.

The “console” itself can actually be split into two parts: the actual machine and then a large adapter with slots for 11 separate formats.

Which consoles, you ask? The Famicom, Super Famicom and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) are supported, as well as the Sega Mega Drive and Sega Genesis.

The Retro Freak Premium also includes support for the Game Boy, Game Boy Colour, Game Boy Advance, PC Engine, TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine SuperGrafx.

The console comes with controller adapters for each system, or you can use Retro Freak’s own controller via USB.

Although the Retro Freak Premium is great for playing old games, it also adds some very 2016 features to make things easier: there’s 720p upscaling and even optional internal memory to back up your precious old games.

So how much will it cost? The Retro Freak Premium costs £140 if you order here – so not too expensive.
